New In Town by Allison Symes

11/6/2021

N = Never been here before.
E = Expectations of riches increasing rapidly.
W = What posh places there are here.

I = I never stay in places for long
N = Not advisable in my line.

T = Thief, you think? I am far more than that.
O = Old school professional me, you’d never know I’d visited you.
W = When you can’t find something, that will be when you finally know you’ve been robbed.
N = Now to move on again, I’ve got what I want here, easy sales in the next town.

Many thanks, Sandra. I discovered the joy of acrostic flash fiction in the last year or so. Great fun to do but it helps to have something that is open to interpretation.

    100-Word
    Stories

Since Friday Flash Fiction began in September 2013, 100-word stories have remained its 'beating heart'.

Normally, 100-word stories are scheduled for 07.00 BST (GMT in the winter) on the following Friday. However, where a large number of stories (more than 25) are due to be published on the same day, we publish a second batch around 10.30am.

Each week we pick a story or (occasionally) a poem as 'Editor's Choice'.
It's a personal favourite, no more. Do you agree?
