Last night, I dreamed of Death saying to me, “Be warned! Your friend, John, will be my property on the 7th day from now. Don’t you ever disclose it to him.” I woke up terribly frightened. Just then, John called me to invite to his betrothal ceremony. He talked of his plans to go to a famous island with his wife, a Hollywood celebrity, just after the biggest business deal of his life. His words made me suffer from anorexia, insomnia, and anxiety. On the 7th day, a cardiac arrest killed him. I wondered whether Death punished me or him.

Death played a cruel joke on you, but your warning John would have only increased his anxiety. A beautiful story, Paritosh.

Fascinating and disturbing all at once. I should hope not to ever dream of ‘Death’. Love the openness if your last sentence to explore all possibilities, Paritosh.

The realm of foreboding dreams...So wonderfully presented, Paritosh.

He didn't tell John, so he didn't deserve punishment. Death knew which one it was taking.

You can't fight fate. However, wish death had not revealed his plans to the narrator.

The number seven outside its usual context. Divinity or divination?
