I stood at the edge of the cliff, looking at the tranquil bay and indifferent rocks beneath and feeling, all the while, the tsunamis engulfing my psyche within. A gentle breeze was smoothly slapping my face, being unknown to the rising rage inside me. As I was about to take a fatal step forward, someone behind me questioned calmly, “Are you looking for something here?” I didn’t reply. I turned back. He looked at me, smiled, and walked away. The next morning, I received the long, long awaited job appointment letter. Since then, I have been looking for that stranger.

Could be the beginning of a great novel. Well done, Paritosh.

I agree with both the earlier comments, Paritosh. I hope the stranger is found or perhaps the protagonist might become a timely stranger for someone else. Well done 💛

Sometimes a few words, a bit of human concern, are all that's needed to shatter despair. Good story.

A life saved and hope renewed. I doubt the stranger will be seen again, but he will always remembered. Comments are closed.
