The diagnosis came unexpectedly, yet Ariel had a hard time imagining life prior to all the pain, doctor’s appointments, and hours of chemotherapeutic drug administrations.
Like the locusts she had read about as a child, the aggressive cancer wreaked havoc as it spread throughout her body.
Only a little bit longer.
The nurses were amazed that Ariel had been able to stay around as long as she did; laying in the hospital bed, seeming to pine for something.
Finally, the familiar face she’d dreamed about appeared in the door frame. Ariel smiled.
