Harper steps back. A pink glow flushes her cheeks. Perhaps she should say something. After all, it is only their first date.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to embarrass you,” says Avery.
Harper smiles. “I’m fine,” she replies as she moves closer.
“Let’s go,” says Avery and reaches for her hand.
They walk in companionable silence as snowflakes drift from the night sky, and they soon forget it is only their first date.
