Never knew some lives were more precious than others.

I hide some explosives inside a pineapple to kill wild boars that destroy my crops. A pregnant elephant bites it and the explosion blows away a large chunk of its mouth. There is an unending cry of outrage in newspapers, television channels, and social media. I am perplexed. I have been killing boars, some of them pregnant, in a similar way for years without a murmur of public protest. Government agencies kill swarms of locusts, many of them probably pregnant, without causing a single eyebrow to raise.
Never knew some lives were more precious than others.

I was disturbed by this piece of flash fiction, might become a vegetarian; definitely won't become pregnant. Comments are closed.
