“Johnny, what are you doing?” asked the woman in the garden nearby. “Nothing, mom,” the child replied, mashing his foot onto a bare spot in the grass. A crunching sound came from beneath his boot heel. “Just killing a bug.”
Jack stumbled from the grassy jungle into a clearing and saw the beanstalk. Immense wealth could soon be mine, he thought; all I have to do is climb. It would take a hard run to reach the beanstalk, but before him was the giant he had been trying to avoid. Suddenly, he was in the shadow of an immense boot.
