The chocolate manufacturers of the western world loved Valentine’s day.
Some decades before, they had come up with the idea that chocolate equals love and since then they had gone out of their way to come up with more and more sickly creations to mark the day.
You were no-one unless you were buying/receiving a gigantic chocolate heart on 14 February.
Sadly, the western world’s actual hearts were suffering under this annual onslaught of the sickly sweet stuff. Heart disease was on the rise, not helped by massive infusions of sugar and fat.
A quite deadly combination.
