Oh! Snowball, we coddled, cuddled, and nurtured you. And when you left us many years ago, we assumed you would want to return to us.

But...oh! noooooo!

We saw you right here on this site living with another woman in another country under another name. Imagine that!

Your replacement is all white named Licorice.

You haven't changed. You're as handsome as ever. We know you're being treated royally and we are pleased with that.

PS: What life number are you on now? Please don't forget to save another one for us.

Just at the moment, though, we're moderating them so there might be a slight delat before they appear.

Since Friday Flash Fiction began in September 2013, 100-word stories have remained its 'beating heart'.

Normally, 100-word stories are scheduled for 07.00 BST (GMT in the winter) on the following Friday. However, where a large number of stories (more than 25) are due to be published on the same day, we publish a second batch around 10.30am. On the rare occasions where there are more than 50 stories, we'll post an earlier set, probably around 5.00 UK time.
