“Oh, no,” she moaned. “I need sleep!”
Her cell was in her purse, but it wasn’t ringing.
She followed the sound through the downstairs and into the living room. The ringing seemed to be coming from the fireplace.
She looked up the chimney, coming face to feet with the man who was stuck there.
“And who are you?” she asked.
“I’m, uh, a burglar, and I’m stuck. I dropped my phone dialing a friend for help. Please call the fire department.”
Turning off his phone, Elise responded, “In the morning; I’m too tired now.”
