Margot ran to her room, crying.
“You had to say that?” Mom frowned. “She’s only five.”
“I should’ve told her the truth?” Dad replied. “That we’re in lockdown and the stores didn’t get enough treats?”
Mom opened an e-card for Margot. “It’s from the Easter Bunny.”
Dad read. “He is sorry he can’t come over this Easter. He needs to be home like you to stay healthy. He wishes you fun with your family.”
“Dad can you print it out?” Margot asked, smiling at the rabbit.
“I sure can, sweetheart.”
