This Christmas, Sven had planned to take his daughter skiing in Switzerland. But the weather was too warm; Sven was forced to cancel the trip.
“Why’s there no snow?” asked Angelina.
“Because of climate change”, Sven replied.
Thousands of kilometres further south, in Mozambique, the farmer Antonio was having a similar conversation with his daughter Carla.
“But why, Daddy?” begged the 13 year-old.
“Because the rains don’t come, our harvest has failed”, explained Antonio. “There’s not enough food to go around, we cannot afford another mouth at the table. It breaks my heart, but we must find you a husband.”
