We all sat on the floor and ate fried rice, scrambled eggs and calf brains and lungs, and drank powdered milk, which I found off-putting at first but which, like most things, one can grow accustomed to.The lungs would keep expanding in the refrigerator so that no matter how much you ate, the remaining amount would continue to grow. The thing that got to me about the brains was the convolutions; no matter how you try to rationalize it, they flat looked like brains.
