She came into my life like a cool breeze floating atop dense air. By then, I was broken and empty. Her lightness gave warmth to me; placed rose colored glasses over jaded eyes. For a moment, I thought I could love again. Hope wanted all of me. Hope read my books and thought she had found a visionary. I hid the truth and tried to hold on to something I should never have gained. One night, I packed my things, and left without a word. I’ll leave her to remember the man I never was. The man I couldn’t be.
