They started their life joined at the hip but she’d always been faster in everything. In their time together she’d certainly been around the block a few times. So different yet so alike. Forever on the cusp of new beginnings. Good masters, bad masters, they’d seen it all. Creating memories, sometimes loved, occasionally hated, often lost and never found. That morning as their new master gave them a fleeting glance they’d known they’d never walk this way again. Now, as animated sounds filled the room then faded momentarily, they united for one last time. It was over.
