“At least they used to try to debate the issues,” he said, grabbing the remote and turning off the TV. “Now they’ve become an angry mob.”
“Amen,” she said.
“And they lecture us on tolerance. Tolerance for who? Only for those who agree with them. Everybody else is stupid.”
“By the way,” she said, “Carol called today. She and Dave would like us to come over for dinner sometime.”
“Hell, no.”
“Why not?”
“Don’t you remember the last time? We argued the whole damn night.”
“I know, but maybe we should give it another try.”
“No way. Dave’s an idiot.”
