At three o'clock in the morning, the hospital cafeteria was empty. Dinah had nothing better to do than listen to the rain drumming on the black windows. Perhaps that was why she hadn't heard the woman come in.
“I’ve been to this hospital countless times, but I’ve never been here.”
Dinah startled and stared at the newcomer, a gaunt old lady in black.
“What can I get you?”
“Nothing, dear. I’m here to pick you up.”
“You’re... what?”
The lady glanced at her wristwatch.
“A blood vessel in your brain is going to burst in three... two...”
“That’s ridicu-“
