LinkedIn announced today that, because revenues from its business social media site have not met expectations for the third year in a row, the site is going to be imposing a posting fee for users, effective immediately. LI apologized for the new fee structure and said the decision had been a difficult one. However, they claim they had no alternative; the choice involved introducing fee-based posting or closing down the site.
