It is “March Madness” season. Sixty-four teams will be selected from hundreds of college basketball programs for National Championship tournament. Both David-s and Goliath-s will have equal chance, based on their performance in the season and regional tournaments.
Citizens will be glued to telecast holding their betting papers while predicting major upsets to earn more. Gonzaga, past few years’ Cinderella will be replaced by obscure Marist this year. Telecast will also display antics of colorful mascots, named “banana-slug”, “stinging-bee”, and “fearless-goat”.
For a month, citizens will be unified behind their favorite teams, even in current toxic atmosphere of political divisiveness.
