Millie looks forward to greeting those who visit the farm every day. This afternoon, voices grow louder and louder as they near her enclosure in the barn. She is hungry, but lunch will have to wait. Her guests are far more important. Quiet roommates. Behave yourselves. Stand in the corner. “Visitors, please ignore the sheep and the pigs. Come to me first,” she mutters under her breath. Children ooh and aah and squeal with delight when they suddenly see her. She is ready to receive them. Millie will make them feel special. |
