“My daughter, she’s addicted to donating. Not money, but parts of herself. She started with blood and plasma. Then her eggs. Last year it was bone marrow, and right now she’s at home recovering from donating a kidney. This morning she mentioned she wanted to donate part of her liver next.”
I wait for sympathy, but there is only silence.
