The lectures barely touched on Pope; they dealt principally with the Nixon administration as it became increasingly mired in the Watergate Scandal. The professor opened each class by summarizing the latest revelations from the reporting of Woodward and Bernstein. He editorialized at length, trashing Nixon at every turn. He also professed his undying love for Pulitzer Prize winning author Frances Fitzgerald.
