Sitting at her cluttered desk making a list was easier than vacuuming or sorting through papers. Along with these two items, her responsibilities included:
Friday morning meeting
speech on Saturday
baking scones on Sunday.
She draw a little square in front of each item.
Another task leapt to mind. She wrote:
“care packages for Victor – include something special for our anniversary.”
She wanted to encourage healthy habits while she was away.
One could pick a date, buy train tickets, and hope for the best – but birthing remained a somewhat random act.
Would she arrive in time?
