He liked his simple furniture despite being worn. Appliances worked fine although the models were outdated. He didn’t need new clothes in spite of his mother describing him as a ragged bum. A friend suggested making some positive changes to perk up the monotony of life.
Tom made a decision. He’d keep the old stuff. By rearranging it, the apartment will breathe new life and lighten his mood.
As for the photo of his old flame, it’ll remain behind other paraphernalia on a bookcase. Tom wasn’t ready to rekindle memories of that relationship.
