“A miracle,” many people said who found out about Angela’s supernatural behavior.
They called her a saint, an angel that came down from the heavens to purify the world of all its sins. Many gathered at her house at night. They held candles and prayed for salvation.
But Angela didn’t believe she was a saint. She had hoped, in fact, that one of those shards of glass would cut her insides open like a can of tuna and that her tormented soul would finally be free of its painful existence.
