His name should have been “Tadeusz”. But born in Montreal, the priest was encouraged to make it sound “more French” so he wrote “Teddy Victor” on the baptism certificate. Meanwhile the hospital clerk issued his hospital card with the name “Edward”.
A youth might be called “Tadeusz” but “Teddy”?! Intolerable! He was “Ted”. His S.I.N. card and passport say, “Ted Victor K....” His medicare card says “Ted K...” while “Thaddeus” decorates his driver's license (he chose "Thaddeus" while at university). The difference on these last two identity cards is mystifying as they are renewed simultaneously.
