At last it came, the high pitched and melodious tone. Only to be lost almost instantly on yet another chill gust of wind.
Those who lived in the valley awaited that song every year. A sign to them that Winter was coming to an end and that Spring was on its way.
This year though, like last, they had waited much longer than was normal and the winds had been much colder than they had ever known them before.
