The Malady of Thomas, by Doug Bartlett

20/11/2020

Thomas woke up early and began walking around, deeply breathing in the fresh air on his farm. He watched as the golden rays of sunlight began to peek over the horizon. He was proud of his farm. He had lived here his entire life, as did his parents before him. He raised his family here. He had many fond memories. However, his memories would soon come to an end.

Tom didn’t realize it but he had a malady that would cause him not to live long enough to see another Thanksgiving or Christmas.

His fatal malady? Tom’s a turkey.

Poor Tom. The excitement of holidays is not for everyone. Good twist Doug.

I’m assuming that Thomas’s farm isn’t in California, I heard the governor is giving clemency to all the turkeys this year...
Good story Doug!!!

Boo hoo! Good illustration of why some people can't handle farm life, Doug.

Ban Thanksgiving and Christmas. Tom's life matters. Turkey lives matter. All lives matter. Let's live like sheep and cattle and just graze. But then I suppose grass is also alive. Fun piece. Hope Tom does live in California.

Thanks Sue for reading and commenting. I graze a lot when I'm on a cruise. Thanks again.

Doug,
I've been sharing this with friends and relatives. You picked a perfect week to submit this. In fact, I may attach it to all of my Thanksgiving messages.

That is why I am a vegetarian! He can come to my house and be safe. Happy Thanksgiving All!
