Come here, everyone. The meeting is about to start. Here are a few suggestions:

Keep a lookout Priscilla. If someone appears to eavesdrop, bleat softly.

Supply hay, grass and corn for snacking, Applejack. Your assistance is welcome.

Curb your enthusiasm, Rockefeller. Your incessant crowing tends to give me a headache, and it attracts too much attention. The hens will have to wait.

Focus on the matter at hand, Hamlet. Your squealing can be a distraction. Keep the noise to a minimum.

Get back here, gang. We still need to vote. Should visitors wear a mask, yes or no?

Animal Farm all over again. You brought your little farmyard gathering to life, Marjan. Imagine the shape of the masks if they voted yes.

Definately yes. I'm getting black masks. If in the future I need to rob a bank I want to be taken seriously. Choose your mask carefully.

YES, to masks!
Fun story, Marjan. Had me reflecting on my work meetings. Some could’ve included animals, to keep us all awake. Others sounded like animals were meeting, instead of humans.

Since Friday Flash Fiction began in September 2013, 100-word stories have remained its 'beating heart'.

Normally, 100-word stories are scheduled for 07.00 BST (GMT in the winter) on the following Friday. However, where a larger number of stories (more than 25) are due to be published on the same day, we publish the later ones EARLIER around 4.00 am. On the rare occasions where there are more than 50 stories, we'll post an even earlier set, probably around 2.00 am UK time.
