It was, briefly, a lovely spot. Some city planner's Good Thought for an unexpected oasis on an unprofitable pocket of earth by the bus park. Water used to slide over the sandstone-and-boulder waterfall; the lavenders, sages, and bee-balm stayed, for a while, in their beds.
But budget cuts or distractions or assumptions that someone would step up doomed it to neglect. The homeless and vagrants did a spell in the park until their presence made it a cool spot for teens aspiring to rebellion. No one lingers now.
No one knows why. We just don't go there.
