Through the forest she ran, arms pumping, lungs throbbing. She had to find him. A hundred yards back she found it slowly drifting to the ground, in the lilting way of feathers. She had always felt a great presence of majesty in this forest. She had grown so accustomed to it, from the frequency of her trips here. Soon she would have to go home. She didn’t even want to think about having to go back to the rez. It was never enough, her time here; she just needed a little longer. She could feel how close the eagle was.

Eagles are majestic creatures and your words convey her longing to see find this magnificent bird. A pair come to nest each year near to where I live and watching them soar with their fledgling eaglet is awesome. Comments are closed.
