They were special snowflakes, those fliers. No two alike, they could fly in any weather, and sometimes created a veritable Dreamland blizzard. But somehow, they rarely encountered each other.
Their dreamy existence changed, however, when the newly-developed drones began invading their air space. About the same size as the fliers, the drones seemed to be everywhere. They ignored the rules of the air, and collisions became common. Confrontation was useless; the drones simply ignored the flakes and continued heedlessly on their course.
Oddly enough, no one was injured. Still, many fliers dropped out.
It was a real wake-up call.
