When God's Patience Finally Ran Out, by Gordon Lawrie

28/8/2020

God looked at Her inbox and sighed. Ever since She'd gone all IT and invited prayers online or via social media, She'd been swamped with demands for action on one topic: sexual harassment. Mainly from women, the complaints were of inappropriate comments and, of course, intimate touching. One third of all women confessed that sharing a lift with a man alone made them afraid. Then there was Harvey Weinstein and the #metoo movement.

By 2019, God's patience had run out. They were quite right. It was time to make everyone respect each other's personal space. Time for a new coronavirus...

Loved it, Gordon! I knew that bat had some help :) And, I'm sure you have all the female writers smiling after calling God 'Her'.

A writer friend (female), who lives south of Seattle, is a Vietnam vet and has researched, written on, and been invited to speak on sexual harassment in the military (sadly, she knows of this first hand). I'll be sending her this story, as I know she'll get a kick out of it!
Nicely done (as always)
Jim

God's subtle way of telling us to keep our distance. Sounds like searching for a vaccine is going to be a waste of time.

Firstly congratulations on the correct gender. Keeping a 1.5 or 2 metre distance will probably wipe out the virus, along with sexual harassment. She always finds a way to keep her creation in line.

So very insightful, Gordon.

Thank you, all. I've written a couple of books featuring a very unconventional nun who both gives piano lessons and solves crimes. She not only offers evidence of the existence of God, but also that She must be a woman. But I'm afraid – for a couple of reasons – you'll have to read the book to find out...

And a great read, is Sister Mary - and so is this little tale, Gordon. Thank you.

I rally like this. I can't help feeling there's a purpose behind covid-19

So that's how it happened. A frightening disease, an enforced distance -- problem solved. She does indeed move in mysterious ways. Love it,Gordon.
