Yet Another White House Briefing, by Gordon Lawrie

1/5/2020

It's becoming increasingly hard to separate fact from fiction on this subject. Do NOT try this cure.
He swivelled curiously, as if rotating on a vertical broomstick.

"Now this virus, it's a TREMENDOUS threat, but we've got it under control. Our medical doctors, they're very clever because they listen to my great ideas."

He held up a demijohn of yellow liquid.

"Now as you know, I have a lot of you-know-what. Right now, our medical doctors are looking into whether injecting my you-know-what will cure this tremendously dangerous virus. I really think we can do this.

He swivelled again to his right, daring the "medical doctors" to disagree.

The "medical doctors" just wanted the briefing over soon.

So true. And just so pissed off that the word "tremendous" has forever been ruined.

Sadly we have two epidemics in play here, one by our own choice.

Jim, that is TREMENDOUSLY funny!

Cate, you're right, that is tremendously sad.

Such is his egotistical persona, that worldwide everyone knows who we're writing about without ever mentioning his name.

You're right, Sue, but Gordon, you're OK, they can't sue you. :-)

But of course, Fliss. It's Friday Flash FICTION – if he can read words of more than 6 letters.

Very interesting conversations based on Gordon's story that always sets the imagination on fire.
