The home was empty but alive with the memories of my childhood, hard-working parents, sisters, and brother. And the beatings and occasional hugs. I thought I heard familiar voices calling my name at night.
Some of my childhood friends were alive. When prodded, they recollected some incidents but didn't seem interested.
I consoled myself while boarding the plane back: "Tried, but the river refused to flow back."
